Technical Business Analyst

Job Description
The Technical Business Analyst serves as a liaison between the business community and IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet enterprise needs. Role includes facilitating user group meetings to gather user requirements; preparing detailed requirements documentation, user test scripts and user documentation based on new requirements or changes to existing application functionality; and ensuring the requested enhancements meet the business and company needs while following sustainable best practices.   Will also handle research and review software code/data issues to resolve Level II support tickets as well as provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced Business Analysts. This position will work collaboratively with the IT Project Manager to ensure speed of delivery and quality of product is consistent with company strategies and objectives.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from multiple disciplines to elicit requirements for requested changes and create functional and non-functional specification documents
  • Analyze the feasibility of requested software changes to ensure the request fits the business need
  • Assess the impact of system or process changes
  • Serve as a liaison between end-users and other IT staff throughout the SDLC to ensure the solution that is built aligns with sustainable best practices, and the strategic and tactical goals of the business
  • Create and execute system test scripts and coordinate user acceptance testing
  • Evaluate and ensure data integrity from new system enhancements
  • Communicate updates to supervisor and programming staff
  • Support and train field users on the system enhancements
  • Develop and modify user training materials/bulletins
  • Establish and maintain strong partnership and clear communication with stakeholders
  • Document and maintain process flows and business rules
  • Level II Support for Enterprise Applications
  • Business portfolio management
  • Provide guidance to Business Analyst I
  • Other duties as assigned

  • In depth knowledge and experience with software development requirements gathering
  • Strong analytical, data mining, problem-solving and process improvement skills
  • Detail oriented and committed to a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in project and cross-functional teams
  • Experience in delivering informative and well organized software presentations
  • Must be able to adapt to the customer environment and develop a thorough understanding of the business
  • Must be able to analyze complex inputs and translate data into well-defined system requirements
  • Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer expectations
  • Ability to perform simple-to-moderately complex tasks with minimal assistance
  • Experience on Enterprise level projects
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Understands how and when to effectively communicate risks to leadership and stakeholders
  • Minimum of five years of experience analyzing and designing business systems
  • Four year degree in IT or closely related field is preferred, though experience can be substituted for education
  • Experienced in creating SQL Queries and must understand database concepts and relationships
